Find out more about the rich and storied past of 1 King Street West. Discover the footsteps that this modern architectural wonder has walked through. From the original Michie & Co. Grocers and Wine Merchants established in the mid 1800’s to the storied past of the Dominion Bank of Canada constructed in 1914, this is a hotel that reaches to its past for inspiration for the future.
Constructed in 1914 as the Head Office of The Dominion Bank of Canada, the building was one of the tallest in Toronto. The décor within harkens back to that time, with the spectacular 45-foot high ceiling and the great banking hall. We are extremely proud to preserve and enhance such a significant piece of Canadian history and architecture.
